LOOKING AFTER YOUR JEWELLERY

  • Always protect your jewellery from knocks, scratches, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
  • Remove your jewellery when sleeping, showering, bathing, or when at the beach, in the sea, or in chlorinated water.
  • Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams where they might come into direct contact with your jewellery.
  • Store each piece individually in pouches or a soft-lined box to prevent scratching or tangling.
  • Keep your jewellery in a dark, cool, and dry place.
  • Store pieces separately to avoid them rubbing together or tangling.

Specific Care for Different Materials

  • Silver is not indestructible; avoid twisting or bending it to prevent joins from snapping.
  • Silver naturally oxidises. If your silver jewellery becomes dull or blackened, you can simply wipe it with a silver polishing cloth to remove the tarnish.
  • Store silver pieces in an airtight bag to reduce tarnishing.
  • Use a polishing cloth to keep gold jewellery shiny and lustrous.
  • Plated jewellery finishes are fragile and require extra care.
  • Avoid using polishing creams or cloths on plated jewellery, as they can remove the plating.
  • Store gold-plated jewellery in its original box or wrapped in a clean, soft cloth, separate from other jewellery.

  • For plated jewellery, wash with warm water and mild soap if necessary.
  • Use a soft toothbrush to clean hard-to-reach areas.
  • Avoid using toothpaste with whitening agents or abrasives.
  • Clean plated jewellery periodically with warm water and mild soap.
  • Be gentle and avoid vigorous rubbing to prevent removing the plating.
